Integrated Delivery Networks

Integrated Delivery Networks are redefining how healthcare connects across hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies that all depend on safe, compliant delivery of temperature-sensitive products.

Veritiv can help you unify that complexity through standardized, validated cold chain systems designed for reliability and efficiency at every site. From qualification to fulfillment, we work alongside your teams to help simplify operations, strengthen compliance, and deliver consistency across your network.

Unbiased Solutions

Our solution-agnostic approach allows us to recommend packaging based on data, performance, and compliance — not supplier bias — giving your network the confidence to standardize without compromise.

Smarter Supply Management

We can help your organization improve supply visibility and reduce stockouts through regional warehousing and just-in-time replenishment programs. This approach supports predictable access to validated packaging and refrigerants across all facilities.

Connected Logistics

Veritiv can help streamline intra-network transfers with packaging validated for hospital-to-clinic and pharmacy-to-lab transport. Our systems are engineered to help maintain temperature control and reduce excursion risk during short-cycle deliveries.

Tested for Confidence

Our ISTA-certified labs can help test and qualify packaging under the specific temperature ranges and routes used within your network. We provide reliable data and documentation to support regulatory compliance and strengthen quality assurance across every facility.

Sustainable by Design

Through Veritiv’s Sustainable Design Lab, we can help implement recyclable and reusable packaging solutions that meet performance standards while supporting your ESG and waste reduction goals.

Efficiency Insights

Our total-cost-of-ownership tools can help your supply chain teams identify opportunities to reduce waste, freight cost, and handling inefficiency. By focusing on systemwide savings, we help you gain visibility into both cost and performance.

Partnership That Performs

Veritiv brings decades of experience in healthcare logistics, packaging, and sustainability. We act as an extension of your team, helping you align procurement, QA, and operations across every facility to improve consistency and control.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q. What does "Cold Chain" mean?

A. Cold Chain refers to the process or products involved in shipping temperature-sensitive items from origin to destination while maintaining a stable environment within the cooler. This prevents spoilage of food and maintains the stability and efficacy of life-altering medications.

Q. What are the most common temperature ranges for cold chain shipping?

A. The four conventional temperature ranges are:

Frozen/Dry Ice (<-20°C) Refrigerated (2-8°C) Ambient/Room Temp (15-25°C) Cryogenic/Liquid Nitrogen Frozen (>-80°C)

Q. What is a temperature excursion?

A. Temperature excursion occurs when a product that must maintain a specific temperature range falls below or exceeds that range. For example, if a product required to stay between 2°C – 8°C falls below 2°C or rises above 8°C, it results in a temperature excursion.

Q. Is dry ice better than frozen gel packs for shipping frozen products?

A. Many factors are used to determine when dry ice should be used over frozen gel packs. Dry ice is one of the more costly options but offers the best duration. It sublimates up to 10 pounds per day depending on the ambient temperature and turns into carbon dioxide. Be cautious of trapped gases when opening the cooler.
